19/08/2021

It has been reported that the US has frozen nearly $9.5 billion in Afghan central bank reserves held by the Federal Reserve and other US banks, blocking a Taliban-led government’s access to the assets. The decision is said to have been made by US Treasury Secretary and OFAC officials in compliance with US sanctions on the Taliban.
