JFSC update for Jersey Accountants, estate agents, lawyers and other Schedule 2 businesses'

19/04/2022

JFSC Updated forms now published for changes to Schedule 2 businesses

In March, the Proceeds of Crime (Supervisory Bodies) (Jersey) Law 2008 (Supervisory Bodies Law) was amended following its adoption by the States Assembly in January 2022.

The changes to the Supervisory Bodies Law affect Schedule 2 businesses holding a "Level 2" registration.

These are the majority of businesses that the JFSC  supervise for anti-money laundering and countering the financing of terrorism (AML/CFT). This includes

  • Lawyers, Accountants, Estate Agents, and High Value dealers.

At the start of April, the JFSC  issued an update which outlined what these changes may mean for you and your business.

As part of this update, the JFSC  advised that they would be updating Schedule 2 application forms to reflect these changes for future applicants.

These forms have now been updated. You can find these forms along with more information about registering a Schedule 2 business on our dedicated website page.
