APOLOGY – COMSURE GROUP DEFAMATION CLAIM
“On 3rd March 2025, Comsure published an Article regarding Dr Marc Andre’s Pepin’s alleged fraudulent conduct in the former Cayman Islands- domiciled fund SPI Investment Fund SPC and the proceedings which took place in Geneva, Switzerland investigating Dr Pepin’s involvement in the collapse of SPI Investment Fund SPC. The Article suggested via its headline: ‘Cayman Islands $118 million fraudster faces Swiss investigation’, that Dr Pepin is a fraudster. Upon reflection, and as a result of correspondence received from Dr Pepin’s legal team, we understand that this choice of wording is inaccurate and has encouraged Comsure users to have a negative, and false perceptions about Dr Pepin.
As a result of the Comsure Article, we understand Dr Pepin has received messages, emails and other forms of communication citing the Comsure Article, calling Dr Pepin a fraudster. We apologise for the publishing of the Article and accept that this was wrong, since Dr Pepin was never accused of nor convicted of fraud in the proceedings in Geneva. We regret our actions, and we would like to extend our unreserved apologies to Dr Pepin for the distress which we have caused. We have agreed to and have now permanently removed the Article from our publications and have informed third parties of this. We have also submitted a formal request to Google to permanently remove the link which generates the Article and note that this is currently being actioned by Google.
We express our since apologies to Dr Pepin, for publishing the Article which states that he was convicted of fraud in the proceedings in Geneva and. We accept this is not true and we will endeavour to properly verify our sources when publishing such articles in the future.”
